Where to Actually Eat Near New GRA, Ibadan

One of the first things people ask when they book a stay in New GRA is where to find good food. The honest answer: you don't have to go far.

New GRA and the surrounding Bodija corridor have more dining options than most visitors expect. Here's how to eat well during your stay.

Amala and Local Nigerian Food

This is Ibadan's signature dish and you won't struggle to find it. Amala joints are everywhere in and around New GRA: plastic chairs, paper towels on the table, and a queue that tells you everything you need to know about the quality.

Ask your Bolt driver, ask anyone on the street. Every Ibadan person has a strong opinion about which joint is best, and they're usually right. Go with whoever gives the most confident answer.

Suya and Street Grills

From around 5pm, suya spots set up along the main roads. Spiced grilled beef skewers, wrapped in newspaper with sliced onions. Simple and consistently good. Look for the smoke and the crowd. If people are standing around eating, you're in the right place.

Some spots also do chicken and ram on weekends. Worth asking.

Sit-Down Restaurants

The Bodija–New GRA axis has a growing number of proper restaurants: continental menus, Chinese, intercontinental, and a few spots doing a mix of everything. Good for when you want AC, a table, and a full meal without the hustle of a local joint.

Delivery apps like Chowdeck and Bolt Food also cover the area well, so if you'd rather eat in your apartment, that's always an option.

Breakfast

Most guests at Supreme Apartments cook breakfast in the apartment. The kitchens are fully equipped and it's the easiest option. If you want to go out for it, a few café-style spots have opened in the area over the last couple of years. Ask us on arrival and we'll point you to whatever's currently worth the trip.

The No-Stress Option

If you want good food without thinking about it, our on-site restaurant is open daily from 10am to 10pm. Proper meals, no need to leave the premises. The Exclusive Lounge is there in the evenings if you want drinks and a relaxed atmosphere in-house.
